Ms. Sleigh is a recent graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno and received a Bachelor of Music, Music Education degree. While attending the University, Ms. Sleigh was a member of the Pride of the Sierra Marching Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Lab II, Women's Choir and Chamber Chorale. She traveled with the Pride of the Sierra to the MPC Computer Bowl game in 2006, and performed in Carnegie Hall with the Chamber Chorale in 2007. Among other accomplishments is a performance in the Nevada Repertory's production of "Footloose: the musical" and her musical directing debut with the University of Nevada Musical theatre clubs production of "How to Succeed in Business without really trying". In her spare time, Ms. Sleigh was the vocal coach for the Reno Irish Dance Company and taught a small voice class at Dancin! Performing Arts Center. Since moving back to California, Ms. Sleigh has become a member of the Amador County Community Band and also performs with the Speakeasy Jazz Orchestra; which specializes in music from the 1920's. During July of 2008, Ms. Sleigh competed with her barbershop quartet in the Sweet Adeline's International Rising Star Competition and was awarded fourth place. In the 2008-2009 school year, Ms.Sleigh was the director of instrumental music at Del Oro High School in Loomis, CA. Ms.Sleigh is very proud of the work she accomplished with the help of her students at Del Oro and will miss them very much, as she has returned to school at California State University of Sacramento to pursue a Master's of Music Degree in Wind Studies, Conducting.
